Friday Prayer

Friday prayer, also known as Jumu’ah prayer, fulfills the religious obligation of congregational worship. Muslims gather at the mosque/aula to perform the Friday prayer together as a community, uniting in worship and supplication to Allah. Since our community has become larger, we rent a big hall to accommodate the Friday prayer in our community.

Tadarus Keliling [DarLing] and Islamic Studies

Tadarus Keliling, shortened to DarLing, is a communal Quranic recitation. Each participant takes turns reciting verses from the Quran. After reciting a verse or a set of verses, one of the participants or those who have prepared explanations gives a short lecture or explanation about the verses read, current Islamic topics, or other selected topics. This often leads to discussions among participants. Activities are held every two weeks at one of the house of DeGromiest member.

Islamic Studies are intellectual and spiritual activities that aim to expand understanding of Islamic teachings and apply religious values in everyday life. Study topics are varied, such as Qur’an tafseer, hadith, Islamic history, aqidah (beliefs), fiqh (Islamic law), akhlak (ethics), as well as the application of Islamic values in everyday life, such as education, economics, social, and politics. Speakers are usually someone with extensive knowledge and experience in the field of Islamic religion. Sometimes the speakers are invited from other Islamic communities in the Netherlands or (online) from Indonesia.

Tahsin

Tahsin is an activity of reading or reciting Qur’an accurately by using a correct tajwid. Tajwid refers to the rules of Quranic recitation, which govern proper pronunciation, elongation, and articulation of letters. Students of tahsin delve into the study of tajwid, learning the various rules and applying them to their recitation. During tahsin sessions, students recite passages of the Quran, and the teacher provides feedback on their recitation. This feedback may include corrections to pronunciation, intonation, or adherence to tajwid rules.

Feast Day

We celebrate Islamic Feast Days with our community, such as Eid Fitr, Eid Adha, Isra Mi’raj, and Maulid Nabi. It is very nice to celebrate such Feast Days with Indonesian community, despite living far away from our family and friends in Indonesia.

Islamic Need Services

The urge to facilitate Islamic needs service increases as our community grows. People ask for advice about converting to Islam, arranging Islamic marriage, and helping with an Islamic funeral. We try our best to accommodate our community and arrange services for those who need Islamic services.
